The Organ
casavant opus 2386
Worship at Cochrane Street is enhanced by the use of our Casvant Opus 2386 pipe organ, the largest single pipe organ in Newfoundland & Labrador, and one of the finest in Canada.
This is the fourth organ to serve the congregation of Cochrane Street United Church. Dr. David Peters performed the inaugural organ recital when this instrument was installed in the current building in 1957.
Currently, the organ is out of use while construction continues at Cochrane Centre. This is to protect the instrument against various types of damage that can occur during construction. The organ is anticipated to be back in use by late 2017.
