Cochrane Street United Church has a rich heritage of helping the people in our neighbourhood in downtown St. John’s, NL. We are a non-profit organization that is committed to the well-being of our community. In 2015, this led our congregation to establish the non-profit Cochrane Centre that provides affordable housing, community space and performance space. We come together as a congregation to worship God and help our neighbours and fellow congregation members. We live out our calling to follow Jesus as a church community by supporting health in mind, body and spirit. Our community connections ministries reduce loneliness and isolation and increases the sense of belonging and connection. Our worship and music ministries engage both mind and spirit. We have a strong sense of community as we strive to help each other and our neighbours make our world a better place locally, nationally and internationally. Whether you are walking through our doors for the first time or are a long-time member, you can expect to be welcomed by our friendly members. Our ministries extend beyond our congregation. We support with both time and money a variety of community partners, including Cochrane Centre, Bridges to Hope, First Light, Mission and Service and the General Cemetery Fund.
